The BDVA, with the support of BDVe project, organizes the workshop "Software architecture challenges in Big Data" at the European Conference of Sofware Architecture (ECSA), which will be held on 24 – 28 September 2018 at Madrid, Spain, by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
BDVA submitted its position paper concerning the upcoming Framework Programme 9 (FP9).
A strong data economy is emerging in Europe with large companies and SMEs clearly seeing the fundamental potential of Big Data Value and AI for causing disruptive change in markets and business models. Digital platforms dominate value creation across all sectors and they are at the heart of the digital economy. Business dynamics are changing and usage of data will define global competitiveness. To secure its (industrial) prosperity, Europe needs industrial leadership in Data Platforms and AI Platforms, and in the fields of technology that are key for the development and operations of Data / AI platforms.
The European Big Data Value community will gather the 16th of May in Sofia, Bulgaria, in an event organised by the Big Data Value PPP, with the twofold objective of strengthening collaborations among community members and increasing the visibility and awareness about the PPP in East Europe in general and Bulgaria in particular.

Today, at the European DEI Stakeholder Forum in Paris, BDVA has signed bilateral collaboration agreements with the European Factories of the Future Research Association (EFFRA) and with the Alliance of internet of the Things Innovation (AIOTI), to align their activities, roadmaps and outcomes to support accelerating the digital transformation of industry in Europe.
The European Commission launched the Digital Opportunity Traineeships, a pilot project that will offer students of all disciplines on-the-job digital skills training in participating companies.
Interested students and recent graduates can apply through their university, according to the timing and mechanisms established by the university for Erasmus+ traineeships.
