BDVA/DAIRO grants i-Space label for 17 new DIHs
BDVA/DAIRO is proud to announce the organisations achieving the i-Space label as a result of the 2021 open call. From a total of 25 applicants, BDVA/DAIRO granted the quality label to 17 organisations and 7 hubs renewed their labels. The labelled hubs will be introduced into the community in the i-Spaces ceremony at the European Big Data Value Forum 2021 on November 30.
With this addition, 17 different countries now have an i-Space labelled data innovation hub. Of those countries, Portugal, Romania, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Montenegro got their very first i-Space.
This year, the call for i-Space labels was organised together with the EUHubs4Data project call for Data-Driven Innovation Hubs (DIHs). Qualifying for the label was also a requirement for joining the federation of DIHs, which the project is building. 18 highest-ranking DIHs meeting the i-Spaces criteria were selected for the federation and the EUHubs4Data funding.
BDVA/DAIRO congratulates all the organisations and is excited to see the number of dedicated and high-quality data-driven innovation spaces and hubs growing! The following organisations were recognized with the i-Space label:

Background
i-Space labels have been granted since 2016. Fostering skills and competence, the i-Spaces provide data assets, expertise and infrastructure for businesses, researchers and innovators to test new data-driven applications quickly and safely. As the i-Spaces are connected to the European ecosystem, they are also a natural connection point to initiatives across the borders. The selected organisations go through a process, where reviewers evaluate the dimensions of infrastructure and technologies used, services provided, projects and applications, impact on the ecosystem, and business strategy and sustainability.
BDVA/DAIRO opens a call for i-Spaces every year. Subscribe to our newsletter and follow our social media for the announcements!
