BDVA organises, with the support of GO FAiR, CODATA and the Philips Foundation, a webinar on April 29th at 14h CEST to raise more awareness about the VODAN Implementation network. The purpose of the Implementation Network is to make the SARS CoV-2 virus data FAIR, meaning that they are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and thus Reusable by both humans and machines, during this epidemic of COVID-19.
Aim of the project is to build an Industrial Geospatial Data Marketplace for Europe, that shall be a central hub for geospatial data that guarantees affordability and flexibility in line with the needs of all users regardless of their size, domain, and expertise. Our vision is a breakthrough in the trading and sharing of commercial geospatial data assets in a cross-border and cross-sector setting following the goal to implement Europe’s Data Economy.
The BDVA i-Spaces call for labels 2020 process is open now. If you want to apply, all the information and the corresponding questionnaire are available here. The European Open Science Cloud Digital Innovation Hub (EOSC DIH) invites start-ups/spin-offs, SMEs, Large enterprises, Digital Innovation Hubs, Competence Centres, Innovation spaces or small consortia from any sector to participate in the Open Call for business pilots. Up to five awarded applicants will participate in pilots that are expected to run between 3-6 months

The aim of this COVID-19 Data Exchange platform is to facilitate access to data, and make sure that researchers, scientists, doctors and States are able to share any data that can be useful for the community.It will also play a key role in the coordination of effort of all economic stakeholders, at public and private level, worldwide, that are crucial in the struggle against the virus, to overcome the many collateral damages caused by the pandemic.

The BDVA Board of Directors (BDVA BoD) adopted last February 26th the mandate for a new subgroup under Task Force 1 (TF1) on Data Sharing Spaces (TF1.SG7). The formalisation of this existing activity into a subgroup under Task Force 1 will help centralise material, promote further participation to generate further input, and increase visibility of its activities and results outside the BDVA environment. The new Subgroup is led by Dr. Simon Scerri (Fraunhofer IAIS) and co-led by Dr. Irene López (Bluspecs) and Dr. Tuomo Tuikka (VTT).

The European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) is the flagship event of the European Big Data and Data-Driven AI Research and Innovation community organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the European Commission (DG CNECT). EBDVF 2020 in Berlin aims to continue the success of previous editions where on average we got around 1000 participants including industry professionals, business developers, researchers, and policymakers coming from over 40 countries.

The Big-Data.AI Summit 2020 (#BAS20) is part of the hub.berlin business festival and it takes place on April 1-2 in Berlin. #BAS20 targets to welcome 10.000 attendees, combining executive leaders, experts, scientists, policy-makers and practisioners, interested in the Big Data and AI revolution. Mr. Hahn's presentation will take place on April 1st (14:00 to 16:00) in the "black area".
Welcome to Declarative AI 2020, an event co-organised by SINTEF AS, University of Oslo, and Norwegian University of Science and Technology, under the umbrella of the SIRIUS Centre for Scalable Data Access. Declarative AI 2020 will take place from 24 June - 1 July 2020 in Oslo (Norway). The event aims at presenting the latest advancements in AI and rules, reasoning, decisions, and explanations and their adoption in IT systems.
