Workshop on the Data Governance Act for BDVA/DAIRO Members

On the 13th of January 2021 BDVA/DAIRO organised an internal workshop, joined by more than 70 BDVA experts, focusing on the discussion of the Data Governance Act, released by the European Commission in November (see also here).

This interactive workshop gave BDVA/DAIRO Members the chance to brainstorm and exchange on the main provisions of the Digital Governance Act and especially the establishment of a supervisory and notification framework for Data Sharing services, the construction of a framework for Data Altruism, the possibility to reuse certain categories of datasets held by public sector bodies and the establishment of a European Data Innovation Board. A short intruction on the rules put forward by the Data Governance was followed by an open discussion and interactive exercise, the result of which will help to develop a common position on these topics.

The workshop constituted the first occasion for BDVA/DAIRO members to discuss this very relevant legislative proposal and other activities concerning the Data Governance Act will be scheduled in the near future.
