BDVA/DAIRO is excited to announce the formation of a new sub-group under Task Force 7 focused on Security. The association recognises the importance of big data, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing for the security sector and the European Union's new security strategies. BDVA/DAIRO's new sub-group responds to these needs by promoting a human-centric approach to AI. It aims to put principles of responsibility, explainability, trustworthiness, and accountability into the centre of Data and AI for security.

Sub-group's objective for the year 2021 is to start building a community of Data and AI for security, bringing together stakeholders from the industry and key policy-areas. It will shape a roadmap, harmonising the environment to foster practitioners trust and long-term AI innovation, adoption and uptake. Over 40 organisations members of BDVA/DAIRO have already showed interest in contributing to this sub-group.

The Security Sub-group is co-lead by Nizar Touleimat (CEA) and Vito Morreale (Engineering). Other promoters include Vicomtech and TNO. BDVA/DAIRO congratulates the Task Force leaders and applauds the efforts of the promoters of the initiative.
