Activity Group Meeting 40 - 27th of November

On the 27th of November BDVA organises an Activity Group meeting (AG40) focusing on the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2021-2022, key outcomes from BDVA Task Forces and general association updates.

The meeting will take place from 9.30h to 15h and is open for participation to all BDVA Members. During the morning sessions, the agenda will include updates from the Association on various topics and parallel sessions organised by BDVA Task Force leads. In the afternoon, BDVA Members will have the possibility to hear more about Horizon Europe and to join a specific matchmaking exercise for upcoming calls.

BDVA at Meta-Forum 2020

Meta-Forum is an international conference series on powerful and innovative Language Technologies for the multilingual information society. This year edition (Meta-Forum 2020) will take place from the 1st to the 3rd of December online and is free of charge. 

BDVA Vice-President, Laure Le Bars (SAP), has been invited to the forum as guest speaker during the second day of the event. She will intervene during Session 5: European AI Initiatives and Language-centric AI Initiatives.

BDVA at the ITU Global Innovation Forum 2020 - Regional Forum for Europe (RFE)

On the 29th of October, BDVA President Thomas Hahn (Siemens) will participate as a panelist in the ITU Global Innovation Forum 2020 - Regional Forum for Europe event. BDVA President will contribute to the panel on a European regional digital innovation ecosystem which will take place between 13.15h and 14.15h (Brussels time).

Outcomes of BDVA Activity Group meeting 39 on the work of BDVA Task Forces and the upcoming Horizon Europe programme

On the 23rd of October BDVA organised a one day Activity Group meeting (AG39) which took place entirely online and gathered more than 100 participants.

The agenda of the day included a plenary morning session dedicated to the presentation of several outcomes stemming from the work of the association and the Task Forces, followed by two parallel sessions on different topics and a plenary in the afternoon focusing on the upcoming Horizon Europe programme. Attendees also had the chance to participate in a online matchmaking exercise and flag their interest for particular areas of the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2021-2022.

The AI, Data and Robotics Partnership presented by the German press

On the 16th of October, the German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel released an article presenting the upcoming AI, Data and Robotics Partnership based on an interview of BDVA President, Thomas Hahn - Siemens.

BDVA organises online Activity Group 39 on the 23rd of October 2020

On the 23rd of October BDVA will host (online) Activity Group Meeting 39, which will focus on the work of BDVA Task Forces and the upcoming Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programmes. BDVA Members will also be able to pitch and present their organisations and research priority areas in front of the community.

The EUHubs4Data project officially kicked off !

On the first of September, the European Federation of Data Driven Innovation Hubs (EUHubs4Data) project officially started.

Funded under Horizon 2020 (DT-ICT-05-2020 call) and involving 21 partners from 12 countries, this project aims to become the European reference for data driven innovation and experimentation, fostering collaboration between data driven initiatives in Europefederating solutions in a global common catalogue of data services, and sharing data in a cross-border and cross-sector basis

BDVA has a pivotal role in EUHubs4Data, acting as Work Package leader for the establishment of the federation of DIHs and leading activities linked to community building and communication and dissemination. The project will last for 3 years and will contribute to the creation of the European Common Data Space.

BDVA at the Research and Innovation Days (day 2) - Data for Health

On the second day of the European Research and Innovation days, BDVA Vice-President Milan Petkovic (Philips) participated in the discussions of the panel on "Data for Health". This panel, falling under the Europe Fit for a Digital Age track, discussed the importance of data availability and accessibility for healthcare from an academic, societal but also industry perspective. 

BDVA Vice-President Milan Petkovic highlighted the pivotal role of data in healthcare innovation and in the delivery of better services and applications. He also draw the attention of the participants to the role that the upcoming AI, Data and Robotics Partnership could play in this application area and in collaboration with the other Horizon Europe Partnerships working on healthcare.
