The Horizon Europe framework programme represents the largest collaborative multinational research and innovation investment in Europe with a proposed budget of 100 billion euro from 2021 to 2027. The European Commission invites participants accross Europe to help shape the priorities of the HE programme by completing the online consultation until 8th September.
On the 27th June 2019, the BDVA General Assembly officially welcomed 11 new members, among which there are 5 Full Members and 6 Associate Members. New members come from 9 different countries: Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and UK.
The Big Data Value Association held its General Assembly on 27th June 2019, in Riga, Latvia in the context of the Big Data Value PPP Summit event. As part of the meeting, the BDVA members were called to elect 5 Directors for a new or renewed 2-year mandate, and to appoint a BDVA Vice-President.
The European Commission has launched during the AI Alliance Assembly event the pilot phase of the Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI.The HLEG on AI has also released on June 26th its second deliverable called "Policy and Investment Recommendations for Trustworthy AI" with a list of 33 recommendations.
The first AI Alliance Assembly took place on June 26th in Brussels and counted with the presence of Mr. Thomas Hahn, Siemens and BDVA president, as a panelist.
Strong collaboration between the IoT and the Big Data/AI communities is needed to strengthen competitiveness of Industry in Europe, and to bring value from new technologies to business and society. To advance in this collaboration the IoT Week Conference 2019 counted with the presence of the BDVA President Mr.Thomas Hahn, the BDVA Vice-President Ms. Laure Le Bars, and represtantion from BDVA members several Big Data Value PPP projects.
The European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking - EuroHPC has selected 8 sites for supercomputing centres located in 8 different Member States to host the new high-performance computing machines. The hosting sites will be located in Sofia (Bulgaria), Ostrava (Czechia), Kajaani (Finland), Bologna (Italy), Bissen (Luxembourg), Minho (Portugal), Maribor (Slovenia), and Barcelona (Spain).
The Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and the European Robotics Association (euRobotics) are publishing an initial version of a joint Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for an AI partnership in Europe on the 6th June in Brussels.
The 2nd International Workshop on Software Architectures Challenges in Big Data (SACBD) is organized by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) as part of the European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA, https://ecsa2019.univ-lille.fr/home).
